The inspection ring is applied to the machining of engine cylinder hole, which provides a standard for on-line measurement of honing head and machine tool. The inspection ring is a part of the online measurement system of honing machine. Usually honing one workpiece need several inspection rings, the number is determined by the allowance of honing process, the shape and structure are determined by the tool clamping method, and the dimension of inner hole is determined by the size of each honing process.

Inspection ring is usually divided into rough honing, finish honing, its inner hole size for rough honing is smaller than finish honing.
