Material of workpiece: Forged aluminum alloy

Machined part: Bolt hole

Problems with the original tool used by the customer:

1. The straight groove drill with cemented carbide is adopted, and the machining efficiency of pecking drill is low;
2. Aluminum chips are almost continuous, scratching the machined hole surface, and the surface roughness is poor;
3. There is a burr about 4mm high at the hole outlet;
4. After the drilling process, a polishing process shall be added to polish the scratched parts in the hole and remove the rough edges of the orifice.

In view of the problems existing in the customer's processing, we give the tool scheme: cancel the rough machining of the tool, one edge passes the center, flat head drill, all tool heads are made of PCD material, and there are no chip breaking grooves and chip separation grooves. The edge of the flat head drill is specially treated.

Customer's on-site tool test effect:

1. The surface is free of scratches, the orifice is smooth, and the outlet is free of burrs;

2. Hole wall roughness Ra0.4;

3. The chip breaking is good, the tool has no chip buildup, and the cutting edge under the 60x magnifying glass has no obvious wear.
